Qustion about kissing

I can't say whether this adds to Markus' suggestion of Makino Mamoru, but the hard examples of censorship would come from imported foreign films.  I think I recall that in 'World-wide influences of the cinema; a study of official censorship and the international cultural aspects of motion pictures', HARLEY, 1940, there's a list of cuts by censors in Japan by type but I don't remember whether kissing is a specific category.
