Housing in Japan

To all KineJapanners currently residing in Japan,

I will be moving to Tokyo on August 20 for an 11-month period of
research and am just checking to see if anyone will be vacating an
apartment around that time.  I'm planning to look for a place through
agencies, but if I could take over a lease on an already-furnished
place that would be great.  Ideally I'm looking to spend between JPY
100,000--120,000 a month.  Since I'll be commuting to Tsukuba once or
twice a week a place near Akihabara or Asakusa would be wonderful, but
I can handle a long commute if the place is a good fit.  Doesn't have
to be huge, but am hoping for a 1DK or 1LDK rather than a 1K.  And if
anyone has any recent positive or negative experiences to share with
particular agencies or locations, please feel free to email me
off-list.
