Dear all,
Miriam Hansen was a brilliant scholar and cherished friend. She was a
great mentor and advocate for students and colleagues working on East
Asian cinema, and her scholarship continues to shape the field. Her
loss is deeply felt at the University of Chicago and community, where
her dedication and passion were an inspiration for us all. No one who
knew her will ever be able to forget her amazing strength. Her
generosity, vision, and spirit are still very much with us, but we
will miss her very dearly indeed.
Please find information from Adam Hart, coordinator of the Chicago
Film Seminar, about the memorial service below.
Best regards,
Diane Lewis
