Seriously. Is there anyone here who hasn't seen a bootlegged edition of a film? ;)Students then were no less "hackers" or "pirates" than students today. Laws and prohibitions are mere cake decorations.
This does raise a question about the technologies of film piracy circa 1920's and 30's as well as other underground film activities ...
