Mobile content in Japan

Dear friends,

I'm preparing an application  for a grant offered by a bank company in my
country. I'd like to use it in a research stay of 4 months in Japan in 2012.
 Therefore, please, I need to hear from some university and research group
there specialized in mobile phones content (better if film), and how is it
consumed by users, programming, customs, etc.
