jimusho and the film industry

I’ve been reading K. David “Marxy” Marx analysis of how stars are made in the Japanese music industry on his blog (http://neojaponisme.com/2011/07/26/the-jimusho-system-part-four/). Anyone care to comment about how this affects the film industry, if at all?
