Komon-sama sayonara!

The news services report that TBS will be canceling the long-running jidaigeki TV drama Mito Komon after 42 years on the air due to poor ratings.

Many actors have played the character of Mito Komon on film and on TV, from Okochi Denjiro to Tono Eijiro, from Tsukigata Ryonosuke to Nishimura Akira. The current edition stars Satomi Kotaro, who played Suke-san, one of Komon-sama's sidekicks, in earlier seasons.
