Dear Kinejapaners,
I would be greatly indebted if you could suggest relevant academic works on domestic and international exhibition of Japanese films.
Correct me if I am mistaken, but according to my present research there seems to be a lack of that that type of writing especially in comparison to large body of works on filmmakers, history and film theory of Japan.
As mentioned sometimes earlier in this list I'm conducting a research project in Tôdai on the influence on globalization and "cultural imagining/exoticism" on the recent Japanese film with Nikkatsu's just launched "Sushi Typhoon" label as a case study. Whereas there is an abundance of industry statistics and business information, I'm currently seeking a theoretical ground such as analysis of the distribution structure, model and practices for comparison with the similar structures in Europe which have been extensively documented.
Suggestions both in Japanese and English will be greatly appreciated.
With best wishes,
Sten Saluveer
