[KineJapan] ODAYAKA Screening This Tuesday (April 22)

Dear KineJapaners,

This is a friendly reminder of the West-Coast premier screening on this Tuesday (April 22, 7PM) of Odayaka, the second installment of the Pollock Theater Film Series, "Nuclear Japan: Japanese Cinema before and after Fukushima." Focusing on two young Japanese women residing in one Tokyo neighborhood and their growing fear about nuclear radiation, the film powerfully articulates psychological impacts of the disaster through the lens of gender dynamics. The screening will be followed by a guest lecture by Prof. Margherita Long (UCR, CompLit), who is currently working the book project, Post-Fukushima Public Intellectuals and the Problem of Eco-Feminism.
