[KineJapan] Kinema Club and email from predatory publisher

Hi everyone,

This announcement is mostly for presenters at the recent Kinema Club
conference at Harvard, but I think it's something we should all be cautious
about --

I was contacted by a predatory publisher soliciting the paper I presented
at Kinema Club XIII (see email below). The press, David Publishing, is
known to email scholars with an invitation to submit recently presented
papers. After a dubious review process, the author is then asked to pay a
publication fee of $50 per page. The press is listed on Beall's List of
Predatory Open-Access Publishers, and a quick Google Search turns up many
warnings based on researchers' experiences with this entity.

If you receive an email from David Publishing or any of its publications,
ignore it!

Best,
Diane
