The Asahi and other newspapers in Japan report that the director best
known for the Torakku yaro series, has passed away on May 15. He
started working for Toei in 1956, and served as an assistance, among
others, to Kato Tai and Uchida Tomu. He was then a prolific director
in his own right, but not less importantly, also a brilliant
screenplay writer. He was 80 years old.
