Dear KineJapanners,

The Foreign Correspondents' Club is hosting two upcoming screenings that demonstrate a pronounced divergence in style and subject matter: The World of Geisha (1973) on August 24, along with the world premiere of highlights from the five new films being released to mark the 45th anniversary of Nikkatsu Roman Porno; and Studio Ghibli’s Red Turtle on August 31. Both events feature Q&A sessions with the filmmakers. 

Since FCCJ is a private club, you must reserve your seats through Screenings Curator Karen Severns: kjs30 at gol.com. 

Be sure to reserve early, as seats are limited.

Featuring highlights of the new films, and a Q&A with reboot directors Hideo Nakata, Akihiko Shiota, Kazuya Shiraishi, Sion Sono and Isao Yukisada

Also: A rare English-subtitled screening of THE WORLD OF GEISHA (Yojohan fusuma no urabari, 1973) by Tatsuro Kumashiro
