[KineJapan] Nezu Jinpachi

The actor Nezu Jinpachi has died at the age of 69. A product of Kara Juro's underground theatre troupe, Nezu came to fame in the 1980s for work on TV and in films by Yanagimachi Mitsuo (A Farewell to the Land) and Kurosawa Akira (Ran and Kagemusha). I particularly remember him as a regular in the films of Ishii Takashi, including Gonin and A Night in Nude. I also liked his stage name: while his real surname was Nezu, Nezu Jinpachi was one of the legendary samurai serving Sanada Yukimura. Nezu had been suffering from various ailments and had officially retired from acting in 2010.
