News report say that the great by-player Sugai Kin has died at the age of 92 (she was born in Taisho 15).
She started acting on stage in 1947 at the Haiyuza, and her first two film roles (at least according to the JMDb) were in Ikiru and Gojira. She had roles in such famed films as Bakumatsu taiyoden, Pigs and Battleships, The Pornographers, Nikudan, and Himatsuri, among many others. She won a Japan Academy Prize for her role in Itami Juzo’s Ososhiki.
She was most known on TV, especially for a continued role in the Hissatsu series. She received both the Shiju Hosho and the Hokansho from the government.
