The publisher Film Art is celebrating its 50th anniversary (!), and with
500+ books in their list I'm sure many of you have their volumes on your
shelves. They've enlisted a number of interesting authors and book sellers
to write essays on the publisher, including Kaneko Yu, Ono Yoshito, Yomota
Inuhiko, and others. Here is the latest, by Iwamoto Kenji.

They are worth checking out. I write this shortly after visiting the film
section of Shinjuku's Kinokuniya, which is now housed in the bekkan behind
the main building. The paucity of titles, and the truly poor selection was
really disheartening. They should get their act together. It's embarrassing
and a not a little sad.
