[Gerow Aaron]

The news reports say that the actor Kato Go has died at the age of 80. 

Graduating from the Department of Theater of Waseda University, he studied at Haiyuza before becoming a member of the troupe. In film, he is remembered for roles in Castle od Sand, Samurai Rebellion, Amagi-goe, and Demon Pond. On television, he is most famous for his starring role in Ooka Echizen for 15 seasons, but also appeared in shows such as Sanbiki no samurai and Sekigahara. He received the Order of the Rising Sun in 2008. His wife Ito Makiko is an actress, and his sons Natsuhara Ryo and Kato Rai are both actors.
