There are also short pieces -- sometimes more, sometimes less academic -- on several Sono films in the three volumes of theDirectory of World Cinema: Japan. Riccardo and I were responsible for the pages on Noriko's Dinner Table andYume no naka e. I'd especially recommend the latter, lesser known film. It seems to me a project that, like Bad Film, takes us deep into Sono's gut.
