[KineJapan] Furuhata Yasuo

The film director Furuhata Yasuo died on the 20th at the age of 84. He started out at Toei in the late sixties with mostly yakuza films, including films in the Abashiri bangaichi series, but he is most known for his films with Takakura Ken from the eighties on, such as Station, Poppoya, and Hotaru. He won the Japan Academy Prize for best director for Poppoya. He also directed many TV dramas, including several editions  of the "Akai" series with Yamaguchi Momoe.
