[KineJapan] Wada Makoto

[Gerow Aaron]

The illustrator and film director Wada Makoto has passed away at the age of 83. Wada was most famous as an illustrator, drawing the covers for some of Murakami Haruki's novels, for instance. But he was also an essayist and wrote quite a lot on film, including rensai in Kinema Junpo. He worked on animation early in his career, and debuted as a feature length live action film director in 1984 with Mahjong horoki. R.I.P.
