I did a write-up on my blog about Issue 6 of the magazine Nang, which is dedicated to “Manifestos” in Asian cinema. The issue reprints my translation of Aoyama Shinji’s “Nouvelle Vague Manifesto,” with a new introduction by me and a commentary by Ryan Cook.

I also wanted to urge people to think about getting their libraries to acquire Nang. It is a print-only journal dedicated to Asian cinema that is promised to run only 10 issues. There is no digital version available, and may never be.
