[KineJapan] The effects of Coved-19 on Japanese film & tv

Soda Kazuhiro is in Japan for the PR campaign for the release of his new
film Zero. On social media he has posted a screenshot of doing interviews
by video conferencing, and speculated that the release of the film in May
is very much a question.

The mini theaters are in a very tough spot, as the article from Matteo
reveals. Asai Takashi from Uplink posted this on Twitter:

休業補償なき外出自粛に応じて週末だけ映画館を休館しているが、もう限界を超えて正直にいうけど経営が成り立たない。自粛と相反するキャンペーンを始めます。『平日は映画館に行こう！』アップリンク渋谷昨日15回上映して観客は60人。平均4人。0の回も2回です。ガラガラの貸切状態です。もう死ぬ。

Many theaters across the country have always been at the brink of
bankruptcy. It could very well be that many will fold this year.  Needless
to say, this will affect both indie distributors and theaters as well.
