You'll find the Hirasawa book a gold mine of information, including a solid
timeline and bibliography. It's _the_ starting point for your project.

One curiosity is Adachi-san’s responses to the questions Markus Nornes and

Midnight Eye also did a nice interview with him in English.

Actually, I sat down a few times with Adachi last year to talk about the
possibility of writing a critical biography—something like what I did with
Ogawa. I told him, "We'd have to fight." He responded, "I know. Good!" So
it looks like this'll be my next big project. I look forward to seeing your
work Pieter-Jan; it's completely different than what I'd be up to and,
whew, Adachi certainly lends himself to such an approach!
