Dear Kinejapaners,
I would like to draw your attention to the following call for papers for
French peer-reviewed journal *Ebisu*, published by the French Research
Institute on Japan at the Maison Franco-Japonaise (IFRJ-MFJ) in Tokyo.
It can be found here, in French, English and Japanese :
https://calenda.org/797268
This call for papers is about trying to rethink in a perspective as broad
as possible the last forty years of cinema in Japan. *Ebisu* calls for
papers are usually very short, and the topic here allows a multiplicity of
approaches : I hope many people around here will be interested in
collaborating to this issue !
Unfortunately, the deadline for submitting a 800 characters proposition is
close, and goes by the end of September - but papers are due to 2021, april
1st.
The issue will be in French, but we will accept papers written in English
or Japanese: they will be translated subsequently into French.
Many people on this list are very familiar with Japanese cinema (or cinema
in Japan) from the 1980s : please accept our deepest apologies for not
being able to mention your works in this call for papers (please believe
you were not forgotten: it is, I am afraid, a simple question regarding the
number of characters...). I hope on the other hand you will be, once again,
interested in contributing, as this period is not discussed enough in
French publications.
For further questions, please contact : ebisu at mfj.gr.jp
(Of course, I will be please to answer to any question here as a well!)
All the best,
Mathieu CAPEL
