[KineJapan] KineJapan Digest, Vol 36, Issue 4

Dear Maria, dear Beat,

Thank you very very much for digging out my book, which has one chapter on
German-Japanese co-productions, including "Nippon".

The chapter is the slightly revised version of an article that came out in
2017: Early transcontinental film relations: Japan, Germany and the
compromises of co-production, 1926–1933; *Historical Journal of Film, Radio
and Television* 37 (2). I am attaching it here, in the hope that it might
be helpful (also because the book is still so ... expensive,
unfortunately!).
Of course, it doesn't replace actually watching the film. My research for
this goes back several years, but I remember the Cinematheque Suisse being
immensely helpful. I think the chances of obtaining a research copy are
really good.
