[KineJapan] Toho unfair practices

The Japan Fair Trade Commission has investigated Toho and found that its theater chain, Toho Cinemas, was pressuring distribution companies that wanted to show their films at those theaters, to privilege the distribution of Toho films and to not to distribute films by studios other than Toho, practices which are in violation of anti-trust laws. To avoid prosecution, Toho has volunteered to correct such practices.

Mark me as not surprised. No wonder Toho has an inordinate share of the domestic market.
