Hello Alexander, I unfortunately haven't seen the film myself to confirm.
However, it seems your hunch is correct, 山本和子 is credited as playing Sada,
the sister-in-law married to the older brother in the film according to
kinejun. There is also a Twitter thread from her daughter talking a bit
about her early life that I found interesting, though somewhat unrelated:
