The magazine Eiga Geijutsu announced their Best and Worst Ten Japanese films of 2023, based on a poll of critics and film-related professionals. Here are just the top three results:

Best Ten:
1) Hanakutashi (Arai Haruhiko)
2) Fukudamura Jiken (Mori Tatsuya)
3) Sekai no Okiku (Sakamoto Junji)

Worst Ten
1) Tsuki (Ishii Yuya)
1) Kaibutsu (Koreeda Hirokazu)
3) Godzilla Minus One (Yamazaki Takashi)
(Tsuki and Kaibutsu received the same number of worst votes)

The full results will be available in the issue of Eiga Geijutsu available from January 30.
