Sorry for the delay, but it was announced a few days ago that the great actor Yoshiyuki Kazuko died on September 2 at the age of 90. Trained at Gekidan Mingei, she first came to prominence playing Anne Frank on stage. Initially signing with Nikkatsu before going freelance, she appeared in films by Imamura Shohei (My Second Brother), Oshima Nagisa (Empire of Passion), Yamada Yoji, and others, winning many awards. She also appeared in over 100 TV dramas, including the Asadora Aguri, which was about her mother, a famed beautician who was married to the novelist Yoshiyuki Eisuke and mother to the writers Yoshiyuki Junnosuke and Yoshiyuki Rie.
