Hmm. Looks like SPAM to me. ;-)

Thanks for the address.
For everyone's enlightenment (and see note below), WHOIS reveals:

Kuma Industries (KUMADISC-DOM)
22651 Lambert St. Suite 105
LakeForest, CA 92630
USA

Domain Name: KUMADISC.COM

Administrative Contact:
Harris, Frank (FH136) frank at TRUEWORLD.COM
714-779-3730
Technical Contact, Zone Contact:
dnsadmin (DNS37-ORG) dnsadmin at DN.NET
tel.: 703-642-2800 fax.: 703-642-3747

Record last updated on 06-Jul-97.
Record created on 18-Oct-96.
Database last updated on 19-Aug-97 04:41:22 EDT.

Domain servers in listed order:

NS1.DN.NET 206.43.192.76
NS2.DN.NET 206.197.81.10
NS3.DN.NET 206.197.81.11
NS5.DN.NET 207.153.203.5

And when I do a traceroute, their mail does indeed get routed through
trueworld.com, though I suspect Frank himself will ignore complaints about
spamming. I intend to try postmaster at trueworld.com, and postmaster at dn.net
with a clipped copy of the spam showing only the header and address at the
bottom, and a note something like this:

"Dear Sir(s), I am on an electronic mailing list that was visited today by
a mass-mailed advertisement by a non-subscriber to the list, originating at
kumadisc.com - who would appear have you as their access provider, and so
you seem to be a logical place to complain about this abuse. Do you have
policies against this? If you are not their provider, I apologize, and any
indication you might have as to whom or where to complain would be
appreciated."

I'd encourage other folks to compose their own letters, if the spam annoyed
them.

I think I might also send mail to aol.com, if it weren't for the fact that
I don't have any evidence the spam originated there (but I don't get the
full headers on my e-mail showing the path; those of you who do are
actually in a better position to complain than I am).

Peace, everyone,
