The Pierids seem to have been of roughly normal (i.e. highly variable) sizes this year, but in 1996 I and others saw some very small male Common Blues (Polyommatus icarus), so much so that one enthusiast claimed a Small Blue (Cupido minimus) in an unlikely habitat. Michael Healy
