Direct digitizing

Dear Dr. Philip:

Thank you for reviewing digital images through a digital camera.  I
have a question related to the topic.  When you say publishable, do you
mean publishable at a website, or actual hardcopy publication?  Do you
know if there is any dpi limitation or recommendation from publishers?  I
wonder if publishers accept digital images with less than 300 dpi.  I wish
there is a guideline for that.
