Attraction of moths to light

One more quick comment,

Someone asked about the visual acuity of moths. Although moth
eyes are very sensitive to dim light, it is unlikely that any but the
brightest stars are actually "seen" by the moth, though the research
in this area is extremely thin. The sky at night (without the moon)
is probably seen as just a lighter background than the ground below
and objects around them, enough to navigate around objects and help
keep themselves oriented appropriately in the up-down plane. Anybody
out there know more about the visual acuity of moths??
