GPS 12 Channel Receivers

I have used the old 2 channel Magellan GPS in tropical forests with very
little success. Magellan has finally followed other GPS manufactures in using
the more powerful 12 channel receiver in its newly advertised 4000XL and
2000XL units. They are advertising that the units will work under dense
forest cover. Has anyone used any unit with a 12 parallel channel receiver
under forest canopy and how was the reception? I am very excited about these
newer units and I hope the 12 channel units live up to their manufacture's
advertising.
