Sugaring

Moth Bait:

2 lbs dark brown sugar
6-8 ozs of apple cider vinegar or beer
2 bananas ripened to a solid brown, golden inside (a few hours in a hot
car works in an emergency)

optional:
2-4 ozs of molassass or maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla or any fruit extract (blueberry works good)

substitutions:
I've used some English treacle stuff (somebody's Golden something or
other) - consistency of cold tar, with good success, white sugar is okay,
but the browner the better, in my opinion.

Apple cider vinegar is cheap and works great. Beer is good, though the
best is the really hoppy stuff, like Blatz. I've used heat-damaged wines
and sherry with good success.

I've used plums, peaches, apples, bananas, apricots, grapes, and some
others, but have had excellent success with the inexpensive banana
severely damaged by frost in my freezer.

Happy hunting!
