A follow-up for all interested parties (which should be many folks here).
Mike Thomas directed me to the best summary of the present USFWS
import/export rule, which applies to dead insect specimens.

And note that they specify that copies can be obtained through the ASC.
MAKE A NOTE OF THIS! It's a sure bet that this stuff will come up again in
another few months, and having this info handy will make things easier next
time around.
