Well, you may recall I commented on "agis.net" once before - well, Mike
here gets his internet access via cyberpromo.com who go through agis.net -
the good news is that agis.net evidently had some trouble with the
cyberpromo folks (the phrase "lie down with dogs" comes to mind), took them
to court recently, and cyberpromo will be online only another 15 days or
so, then try to get another sucker to play host for their spam-based
empire. So, there is little point in complaining to anyone about this
latest spam, and with any luck, the spam traffic on the net will be cut by
more than half shortly, if cyberpromo can't find someone to give them
access before their lines are cut. They really *are* responsible for about
that percentage, of e-mail spam, at least. How many folks here are really
surprised to hear that spammers are unethical businessmen?
Another note: USA Today has been running an online poll to see what people
thought of spam. The spammers found out about it. Guess which opinion of
spam is the prevailing one? Yup. The "majority of people polled" think that
spam is "useful" instead of "annoying". Like no one could predict that
result when dealing with people who make a living sending thousands of
copies of messages... Sheesh. Good thing USA Today doesn't run the
government elections. ;-)
