I swear to you that this is not a "wise guy" answer.  It is the truth.
The Banded Wooly Bear caterpillar turns into the Banded Wooly Bear
Caterpillar Moth.  Isia isabella.  It would be nice if the adult moth
had a more formal name, but facts are facts.
