For someone who has yet to make the jump from camera-film-print to flatbed
scanning of leps, the current discussion is both interesting and helpful.
Using the ideas put forward, and with reagards to background colour: how
about- substituting a glass sheet for the pinning tray. Use a dap of clear
silicone caulk, modelling clay, or stick a small piece of foam to the glass
to receive the pinned specimen. Prop up the glass by its 4 corners. Maybe a
sheet of white paper above the glass with perhaps a light source above the
paper. This may give the desired light background.
