different. They are all mild variations of the Germanic root word for fly, flying,
etc. I seriously doubt that our cow-horn-helmeted and blue-painted ancestors paid
much attention to insect droppings. It seems intuitively more likely that they would
comment on a fly the color of butter. I say apply Occam's Razor to this one.
