They do, indeed, carry Lyme disease. There's a vaccine ... is it out
yet?
Also, wear long pants, long sleeves, and duct-tape your pants to your
shoes if you're going through long grass, weeds or brush.
Cast aside modesty when you undress (and do so promptly when you go
home) and check each other for the little critters. They dig down.
Before you undress, however, just dab around on the outside of your
clothes with the sticky duct tape and you'll collect thousands of them,
waving their little legs in the air. They will survive that way for
months, so it would be kindly of you to toss the tape in the fire.
I don't know how Adam and Eve survived without duct tape; it does
everything.
