Gulf Fritillary...many Monarchs

I live in Southern Louisiana (New Orleans) and the number of Gulf Fritillaries
and oddly Monarchs is incredibly high.. the Gulfs I can understand because the
passionvine population is high but the monarchs are usually here early and late
summer, and this year they have been abundant all summer.. To anyone following
the migrations: is there anything unusual this year?
