Do moths grow to 2"/5cm in length in WA state?

I came home tonight and there was this huge moth on my window screen here in
Seattle.  It looks like a normal moth, tan with black, but it is 2" long.  Is
this normal?  I know nothing about moths but this one sure looked big to me!

I tried to get it in a plastic bag, but he really hung on to that screen!  I
could see him trying to get a hold when he lost his grip and (this is funny...)
I couldn't do it.  :-)  I put the bag down and then I touched it on the back a
couple times extremely lightly then he put his wings up like animals do to look
bigger to whatever is threatening them.  It was shaking and excremented a tiny
bit... needless to say he was kinda scared!  So I left him there...  Do these
things usually get this big?
