I saw my first monarchs of the season this past weekend (26-27 July) in
northern Delaware. Three were in my garden on Buddleia on Saturday. I saw
at least one adult in open fields on Sunday, and an unusually pale larva on
A. syriaca that day as well. Numbers are down significantly from last
year.
