This is a FAQ no ?

Perhaps Acherontia atropos (L.) (Africa, Europe), but
more probably Acherontia lachesis (F) (India),
both Lepidoptera Sphingidae (Death's Head Hawk Moths).

Yep, they drill into the nostrils to the brain to send
the defunct's soul to the Great Chrysalis :-))
