Golden Chrysalids

According to one source, the golden appearance is caused my the living
chrysalis.  It has tiny air bubbles lodged in its integument, the external
sheath, and when light shines on the chrysalis, an optical illusion makes these
bubbles look golden, like water shimmering on a wet road.
