This message is from Janelle <rmowery at mastnet.net>, a housewife/writer from Texas.
My boys found a pale green caterpillar that is five inches long, has an orange colored head, has black spikes all along its body with the ones near its head being orange in colored tipped with black. The very tail end of it is orange and also has two black spots near the head between two sets of spikes. Its diameter is about 3/4 of an inch. Do you know what kind of caterpillar this is and what it will turn into? It fell out of a pecan tree near our house.
