Try visiting the Karoo (large expanse of arid / semi arid, high altitude
bush now mostly sheep and goat country) to the north-east of the Cape, just
beyond all the wine yards (another good reason for going in this
direction!). There is a vast array of specialised butterfly fauna found
nowhere else. The S.A. Lycaenidae (some 50% of the S.A. butterfly fauna in
total) is especially diverse here.
