Species Seen in the Huachuca Mountains of SE Arizona

My wife, Priscilla Brodkin, and I spent an extroardinary day
butterflying in Garden Canyon (G), and in Carr Canyon wash ( these
species labeled "C") in the Huachucas on 1 May.  Garden Canyon is in
good flower with ceanothus flowering nicely and covered with many
butterflies.  The Carr Canyon wash has water flowing through it with
many springs and damp places.
Here is a list of species for those who are interested:
Pipevine Swallowtail, Battus philenor, (G&C), Two-tailed Swallowtail,
Papilio multicaudatus, (G&C), Checkered White, Pontia protodice, (G&C),
Southern Dogface, Colias cesonia, (G&C), Mexican Yellow, Eurema
mexicanum, (G), Sleepy Orange, Eurema nicippe, (G&C), Dainty Sulphur,
Nathalis iole, (G&C), Juniper Hairstreak, Callophrys gryneus, (G -
hundreds of the form, siva,  are out now, especially nectaring on
ceanothus), Gray Hairstreak, Strymon melinus, (G), Arizona Hairstreak,
Erora quaderna, (G - on ceonothus), Western Pygmy Blue, Brephidium
exile, (C),  Marine Blue, Leptotes marina, (G&C), Reakirt's Blue,
Hemiargus isola, (G&C), Common Blue - aka Spring Azure - Celestrina
argiolus, (G&C), Zela Metalmark, Emesis zela (G), Mormon Metalmark,
Apodemia mormo (C - hundreds around the buckwheat sp. on the floor of
the wash), Gulf Fritillary, Agraulis vanillae, (G one on ceanothus),
Theona Checkerspot, Thessalia theona (G), Bordered Patch, Chlosyne
lacinia, (G), Pearl Crescent, Phyciodes tharos (G- unexpected here?),
Mylitta Crescent,  Phyciodes mylitta, (G), Mourning Cloak, Nymphalis
antiopa, (G), Short-tailed Skipper, Zestusa dorus, (G - very numerous
this year), Caicus Skipper, Cogia caicus, (G), Golden-headed
Scallopwing, Staphylus ceos, (C- numerous this year), Mournful
Duskywing, Erynnis tristis, (G), White Common Checkered Skipper, Pyrgus
communis albescens, (G&C),  and White-barred Skipper, Atrytonopsis
pittacus (G).
