where are all the Monarchs?

Each year in the fall I enjoy watching the Monarchs go from north to south
on our Oklahoma highways. By the hundreds they all go on their journey to
where ever it is they go. In the past I think I saw at least a hundred per
day, but this year I'll bet I saw less that one hundred all year. Why?
