I know of at least one Mourning Cloak/Camberwell Beauty (Nymphalis antiopa) that was seen in the UK in September this year (1998). I do not know the actual date, because it was two friends of mine who saw it and not myself. The said butterfly was seen at Fontmell Down (in Dorset), and was in very good condition.
